Tom Pettingill worked some serious Mojo into this rascal ...

The shell he made houses my "Dining Car Pickup" ...

Tom used a real nice concentric volume/tone pot ... a rotary switch on the players side to move between pickup modes ... and used a very high quality conductive paint to shield the pickups coil and magnet array ... his work is impeccable !!!

Before I shipped it back to Ralph C. ... I made a little demo video after watching the 'Skins last Sunday ... ... the pickup is in Kick A$$ Mode ... Yamaha THR 10 amp ... my iPad ... "Indian Love Call"

I love this little six string ... it's so petite compared to the 8 stringer ... a true work of art ... and a sound that has to be heard live to truly appreciate ...

That's just gorgeous. Now ya just gotta make Tom build you a nice fretboard with the logo facing the right way!

I've had the great privilege of working with two giants of modern steel guitar lutherie, Tom Pettingill and Rick Aiello, whose teamwork has created a beautiful looking and amazing sounding guitar. Previously, this Sierra had a kind of harsh sound, to my ears, and the idea of it was better than the reality. Now, after playing it for few hours, I can say that the guitar's potential has been realized. As Rick wrote after he had played it for a while, "let me apologize in advance .. for ruining any other steels you have or might acquire...there just isn't anything that's gonna be in this rascal's league". He may be right. Thanks guys.

It does sound quite a bit warmer than a stock Sierra. Enjoy your new baby, Ralph!

I miss it ... ... Should have "lost it in the mail " ...

Keep it safe during this wretched weather ...

We have a Blizzard Warning up to our west and that massive hurricane to our east ... Going to meet over my house tonight ... I might have to use my "Bronze Pan" as an anchor ... :\
