Zane is certainly one of the most soulful players out there and one of the few actual composers of his own material. I am a hardcore fan of his and have been really since the first time I heard him play. The guy can rip off and old country standard and then turn around and blow your mind with a "Fruit Loops" tune that he used 5 steel pieces. An incredible multi-talented guy, yet a very humble man too.

Hey Zane, I was watching one of your videos which had revolving still shots of you and your steel instead of live action and it struck me that it looks like your Jackson steel has the legs more of an angle from the body than other steels so that it's a wider floor stance from front to back. Is that true or are my eyes deceiving me? That very well could be a better set up if it's true for the stability of a steel guitar. Also, your version of "The Shadow of Your Smile" is really good, I don't think I've ever heard it done any better! Great job!..........JH in Va.

Jerry - yes the Blackjack Custom does have the back legs at an angle. It most definitely gives it more stability. That's important to us pickers who try to rip the strings off it. Very Happy

I'd hate to choose between this tune and Starry, Starry Night. Both tunes are nothing short of extreme excellence!
