Picked this up tonight at guitar center, new. Price earlier this year was $379....then went to $399 now price had been droped to $349. This weekend they had a 15% sale which was extended till today so it came out to just over $300w tax.
Everyone loves the Roland but I'm a Vox man ...have my share of Peaveys as well but love the sound of my Vox AD 120 as well as many who hear it with my older Williams D10.
Will take it out tomorrow to hear it in action.Tons of great sounding effects as well. Clean setting is right there,no complications and the warmth of a 12ax7.

Gig was canceled due to the game. But working on the amp and there's a whole lot of good tone comming out . Way more than 1 or 2 settings....still need to hear it in a live setting.

I am curious about this as well. It appears to be a good opportunity for a head to head comparison with the Roland Cube 80xl. I would be very interested in how the tube simulator that they tout in the Vox really performs. There sure is a wealth of great stuff coming out these days.

Not a tube simulator. Preamp is 12ax7 valve.

Vince, thanks for the correction. I am now really curious to hear how you liked this amp with the band. The 12AX7 pre-amp sure makes this intriguing. Thanks.

The amp worked out great last night. You can pick one up at GC try it out for 30 days if you dont like it or too complicated you can return it but they don't stock the cube 80 .

Had the amp set at about 40 watts which was more than enough power to keep up but I do need a better volume pedal..use an older vox pedal.

Vincent, thanks for the posts on this Vox amp. Finding a Cube 80xl to try out has not been easy. I am glad to see that you like your Vox so far. There is a GC close by, so guess I have to go and check this out.

I did like my vt 80 but returned it. I purchased the Vox VT 150 pro ..same size amp just 150 watts with a neo speaker and EL 84 tube in the power section and added built in sounds...useless to me..purchased it used at a GC in Minnesota so will get it next week. Amp was a limited run ..new cost on ebay 799. Paid 450. See how it goes!

Karl the amp can be quite confusing trying to find sounds you would like...much more unwanted tones than clean useable ones but makes it a great guitar amp. Go to manual mode and when you add small delay or even a touch of chorus than a bit of hall reverb it wakes up.
