Most new/newer Pedal Steel's no longer have a tone control. At times it would be handy to have a tone control at the steel.

Forum member, Chris Mahoney, has developed a line of effect units, that are the same size and style of the old Jordan Boss Tone. One is the Buzz Boost that looks like a Boss Tone but instead provides separate Bass and Treble controls, with a switch to bypass the unit. It is powered by a 9 volt battery.

I tested it with my wife's GFI S-10 (Expo model) with the stock GFII pickup and it made a big difference in the tone.

Chris is also making a Boss Tone type unit.

Update, I was doing some tracking with my Franklin, using my POD X3 directly to the board and was having problems with the EQ. I used the Buzz Boost and it fixed my steel, for recording.
