Darrell McCall, I think Buddy Emmons on steel. That is some killer classic country indeed.

I can't make a guess because have I this singer's Bear Family Box set here at my desk. The session for "Pins & Needles" was 12/22/75 produced by the singer and the steel player for Columbia. Tommy Williams is the fiddle player. To me - the '70's is the best decade for country music and the pedal steel guitar and one of the main reasons why is this singer's Columbia sides with this steel player. Think of songs like "Dreams of a Dreamer" and "Lily Dale."

Listen to the steel player's tone on "Pins & Needles" when he picks strings 6 & 8 and again when he picks strings 5 & 6.

I beleive this song was originally recorded by Roy A"cuff back in the mid 40's and was, back then, in a publication called the "Hillbilly Hit Parade" ! This is a great newer version with the Steel playing not falling into an over abundance of Feet & Knee playing.

The vocal chorus listed on this version of "Pins & Needles" is Mona McCall, Diane McCall and Donna Jean Digby.

It is certainly the 'Real McCall' and I think, Buddy Gene on steel. Darrell was awesome at TSGA with Del Mullen playing steel Friday Night. As they say, "It don't get no better than that" Thanks for being there DMc.
