Found this on Ebay:

I can see myself playing this with Cab Calloway, performing "Minnie the Moocher", as in The Blues Brothers.

Hot and classy!

It looks to me like somebody covered the Rick with white formica and sparkly tape.

Yes, that formica looks like an owner add-on. I hope he didn't destroy the original finish.

If he used contact cement, that would pretty much take care of the original finish. Sad

It looks like he screwed white birch paneling onto the guitar. Yuck! This is the model that Lee jeffriess refers to as the "trailer park" model. Laughing I had one, too, and Lee bought his from David Lindley (you can read the story in our interview).

It could only be improved by gold-sparkle binding, a'la the Gretsch White Falcon. Whoa!

Many guitars were cobbled back when they were a dime a dozen, and sold cheap at music stores.
A friend bought a 30s bakelite at a music store back then, for 75 bucks, and they were glad to sell it.

So it wasn't a big investment involved when the owner wanted to "customize" it.
I rescued a D8 String Master that had cheap jewelry glued to it in various places. Weird........

Sorry, I didn't think of taking pics of it. I re-finished it blonde. Derrick Mau has it now. Sometimes I wish I would have not sold it, but too many guitars etc.
