I have a couple more Country Classics for you.
The first is a song that's credited to A.P. Carter of the Carter family: "I'm Thinking Tonight Of My Blue Eyes" and 1929 is the date when the Carters recorded it.
The melody has been used many times since for such songs as "The Great Speckled Bird", The Wild Side of Life" and "It wasn't God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels".. The song was sung by Roy Rogers in a 1943 movie.
The second song is "Someday You'll Want Me To Want You". This song was written in 1944 and first recorded by Elton Britt in 1946.
Since then, it has been recorded by quite a number of artists including; Patsy Cline, Don Gibson, Willy Nelson, George Jones, Jim Reeves, Eddy Arnold, Gene Autry, Connie Francis, Dean Martin, Vaughn Monroe and on and on. |

My "Waltz Of The Wind" was written by Fred Rose and recorded by Hank Williams.
It is written in the key of G. |

My newest Country Classic is: "Beautiful Brown Eyes".
This song is officially considered a tradional song but some scholars believe that it was composed by two early country artists, "Fiddlin'" Arthur Smith and Alton Delmore of The Delmore Brothers.
These two were early Opry stars.
In 1950, Jimmy Wakely made a hit out of "Beautiful Brown Eyes."
Since then, the song has become a true classic. |

My latest Country Classic is: "Bonaparte's Retreat".
This song started out as a fiddle tune and in 1946 Pee Wee King added lyrics to it.
It became a best-seller for Pee Wee King, Redd Stewart and their Golden West Cowboys.
Carl Smith revived the song in 1970 and Glen Campbell's 1974 version became a Top Ten success. |
