She'd be better if she had some banjo backup.

Connie Lee Stich had a duet album out with Gary Lumpkin (writer of Size Seven Round). But it probably wasn't released in the US. Title of the album is "Mississippi Memories" and it has some fine Weldon steel on it.

I've seen Connie 3 or 4 times on the Midwest Country show, and I always enjoy her performances. In fact I enjoy that show very much, as it is a very laid back environment, and gives a lot of local artists a chance to perform. And of course I get to see Joe Savage, and the rest of the backup band.

I had the pleasure of having Connie Lee Stich sing a few songs with me last night at a gig in Alexandria MN where I was doing my solo show. Connie grew up near the small town of Urbank MN where my grandfather grew up. Last night was the first night I had met her in person; After my show we chatted at length; I knew I was related to some of the 'Stich' family from what my grandfather had told me and by working through our family tree we found that her grandmother and my grandfather were siblings, making us second cousins. She has an amazing voice. These days her and her husband run a popular restaurant in Alexandria called the Tennessee Roadhouse; One Sunday a month they have a live broadcast from an area FM station and she performs along with selected musicians. One of these times, schedules permitting I plan to take her up on her invitation to jam with them. Truly a classy lady!
