c.1966 Epiphone Al Caiola Standard, made in Kalamazoo by Gibson. It is in Excellent condition and comes with a newer Epiphone hard shell case.these things are pretty rare, fewer than 200 made in total. They are unique in several ways. First of all, there are no f-holes and it has a totally hollow body- unlike the 335 types that have the body block. This makes for a very woody, jazzy tone and keeps feedback to a minimum if you're playing a high volume. It also has a 25 1/2" scale. This is the only ( along with the Deluxe Caiola version) Gibson thinline electric with the longer scale, all the other thinlines are 24 3/4". The longer scale gives this guitar a punchier, more sustained tone. This guitar has P-90 pickups, which in my opinion are much better than the mini humbuckers of the Deluxe version. The Deluxe version of this guitar is much more common. This guitar also has the bizarre switching system, I have been told that it is the equivalent of a Varitone. There are several tones that are kind of silly but two or three that are great sounding.
The only thing missing is the tailpiece name plate. This is unfortunate but having owned a Deluxe model with the plate, I understand why it's missing on this guitar...the plate makes string changing a nightmare.
The tuners are Gotoh(?) repros that work better and have exactly the same footprint of the originals.It also has a replacement nut on the tailpiece. I will include the original but it has a tiny bit of threaded rod in it where it must have pulled off. This happened before I owned it and does not affect playability at all. It has Straplock buttons, I may have the original buttons, if so I will include them as well.
It has been refretted and whoever did it was a master, it is the nicest fret job I've ever seen. $2000 firm.

Thanks Bill but I beg to differ-I'm a lifelong P-90 lover, I don't allow humbuckers of any kind in my house  !

GREAT guitar. Can you play both pickups at the same time with this switching configuration (like the middle position of a 330/335)? Also, what is the nut width?
