I made this body from birdseye maple with a checker board Inlay. I mixed the lacquer myself to get the red color and I got real lucky the color is the best.
I believe I have about 12 coats of clear but I lost count. I also used Delrin stops and Oil light bushings. It plays real smooth. Paul

Most impressive!! The guitar looks wonderful. How does it sound compared to the original body?

I think if you build a new body but keep the original mechanical parts it's legitimate to transfer the logo to the new body.

Paul, very nice. I love the color and the inlay. If you ever sell it you might have to put the mica back on. Whoa! Mr. Green

I hate to be a sad sack in this matter, but I also don't want to see anyone get in trouble. This was part of a discussion in another topic, but is it legal to put a manufacturers logo on a guitar body they didn't make? Some of this legalese got brought up on the logo topic.

no less than hand beating a new panel for your old Studebaker and calling it a Studebaker, I reckon

Ok If it is illegal to keep an Emmons badge on a modified guitar then it is equally illegal to put coop parts or replace non shobud parts on a shobud and keep the shobud logo.

I don't think anybody would have a problem with the Emmons logo except competing manufacturers. It's so pretty, I bet it sounds as good as a black one.

We're lucky to have guys like Paul around. His work is world class. That photo is making my lips wet. It's as close an Emmons I've seen to a SHO~BUD LDG. Paul... are going to sell it or keep it in the collection? Is it all original PP hardware?

I've seen some of Paul's other restored / hand crafted steels. His work is awesome, as good and probably better than from the builder.

What makes an Emmons steel an Emmons anyway.. to me it's the hardware and the way it's put together.
