I've posted this elsewhere, but wanted it to go on record with the rest of the Zumsteels. For the bare essentials this guitar employs, it packs a wallop!
Picker was ozoned by a miscalculated boot block...

Chris, you asked about some "older" models. Here are my two rigs; the black one on the left is an '08 D-10 w/8&5, and the blue lacquer one on the right is a '76 model (the fourth one Bruce built). Notice the logo is on the opposite end and I believe the mechanism is called "pull/release".

I have an early Zum built in 1977, and it has an all pull triple raise, double lower changer. Wonder when the switch from pull/release to all/pull.

Here is a picture of one I "used" to own...dont know if that still counts...cant believe I didnt take more pictures of it...Bruce built it for me in 1998 and I sold it in about 2006, but not to make money off of it.

Sorry for the clutter of other things in the pic...just wasnt into taking pics those days I guess.

Here is my '83 D-10 I bought from Randy Gilliam about 18 months ago. A friend stored it for me until I got back to the Virgin Islands. I am house-sitting a cool place with a killer view here in St John, so finally got around to polishing her up and putting new strings on her! She was 8x5 when I bought her, but I've got her up to 8x8 (Thanks Bruce for keeping your add-on pedals and levers reasonable in price!)

I also got around to plugging in both of my 15" cabs into the heavily-used-but-still-sounds-great Stereo Steel I acquired (ok - I'm a bargain shopper!). Wow! I hope my neighbors like country!

I already have my trusty '94 on here. So here is my other one. A " New " '97 rebuild that Bruce did for me. All new mechanics.

My Zum is my bread and butter guitar. Real nice. I also have a cool Sierra and I just bought a GFI. I'll never sell the Zum.

I'll play. Here's my humble Encore.

Only been playing for about a year now, but it still knocks me out and my teacher still makes remarks about selling his Emmons and buying one. I'll just repost the batch of pics that I originally posted.

Okay - here's a steel that I bought new in 2003 but let go immediately because I didn't think it measured up to my LeGrande 111. I wish I hadn't been so hasty and that it was still mine. Where is it now, I wonder?

Then there's my Encore:

...and this one, currently looking for a home!

No, Ken - built in '03. Pre-hybrid, I'm pretty sure - I mean, I don't think they were made back then, were they? I know mine wasn't one.

Yours is beautiful! I wish I hadn't been so quick to dump the black D-10 - stupid!

I've been gigging with mine recently Roger, and have carried out some minor tweaks here and there to get the action of the pedals and levers to my liking. I am enjoying it and it sounds good through my Telonics combo amp. I have regretted letting go of one of my ZBs in the past - it was a real custom guitar that Zane built for me in sunburst. The only one of my guitars that I would consider letting go is my Infinity SD10 - but only if I could find a really nice D10 Infinity that I could replace it with.

An underskirt shot of mine. There are 8 levers under there, and every time I set my guitar up I am just incredulous that Bruce Z managed to cram so many levers so efficiently underneath that cabinet.

Yes, Ken - mine was eight knees too although one of the centre ones is slightly obscured in my photo.

My Hybrids are both 9 + 9 Ken, and it amazes me how Bruce got all that under the hood and it looks so precise and neatly laid out - just an awesome piece of engineering.
Just a note to recognise a Hybrid from the Tuner end -- there is a row of Hex nuts along the top of the cutout window above the nylon tuners thus:
