Wish I could have made it this weekend. Wondering if there are any pics or reports from attendees yet. I'd love to hear about the new Jackson steel, along with any other interesting new gear.

Best,

Julian

Here are some pictures of the new Jackson steels:

They're very nice looking guitars!

I also really like the new ETS steel guitars, like this one (they're giving it away tomorrow):

Beautiful Jackson Steels! I'm so proud to play/own a Jackson Steel! Every Jackson Steel is a beautiful guitar!

Thanks for the pics and observations Mr. Outer Circle! Any other attendees who can chime in?

Best,

Julian

A Bigsby triple neck in the Telonics jam room.

I spent some time "window shopping" for pedal steels. There are some GREAT guitars out there at a wide range of prices. I also sat in a music theory session in the Russler Steel Guitars room that I just happened to walk in on. I have a much better understanding of how to obtain certain chords on pedal steel now.

the Jackson standard S-10 was my favorite $2K guitar at the show, and it was under $2K !
I liked it so much that I bought the first one !

Karen! And I am so impressed with your drive to play! Great to meet you and can't wait to see you again at a future show! Oh, and, for those checking out the pictures, in the one with Rusty, that Jackson next to him (green) is Zane's...it sounds amazing! Well, Zane plays it beautifully too! But, the Jacksons make a great steel guitar!

Alex, I loved it at the show. I dont have it here at home yet, they had to take it back to the shop to put a serial number on in ! plus i didnt want to take it on the plane so they are shipping it to me.
Donna great to met you too ! I wish you and Zane the best and will plan a visit when I make a trip to Nashville in the very near future.
Here's a pic of Zane playing his green machine

Well after playing the new Jackson Standard guitar I was blown away. The Jackson family has done it again.
This guitar is the very best sounding and playing guitar I found at the show for the price. This is the way a guitar should play. All of the Jackson guitars play so easy.
You will never get a better sounding or playing guitar. As Tony the Tiger would say they are Greaaaaat and all for under $2,000.00 with 3and4.
If you are looking for a great guitar for under 2,000.00 do yourself a favour and give the Jackson folks a call you will not be disapointed.
Great people and great guitars.
Charlie

I'm just curious why a post specifically about gear would be moved to Steel Players? I was hoping to get information and pictures of the guitars at the show...

Rusty and Zane are both excellent players that do a great job on bringing out that tone that Jackson Steels are known for. Both put on great shows in Dallas.

Focused...

For the record: I found one PSG at the TSGA Jamboree that really impressed me with its tone and expressiveness, and it was a Jackson. The new model I test-played isn't presented on their website yet, and I did not take any pictures of it. It sounded so good that if the Jackson folks can put my copedent on it they may save me from having to build one to my specs from scratch.
