The big brown truck just dropped off (yes, in the dark) my Kline SD-10. It appears to have arrived safe & sound from Rick @ Hummingbird Music (thanks!), but I'm going to wait until tomorrow to set it up (its been on the truck all day).
Of course, I did open the case to find an IMMACULATE guitar, cover, leg bag, etc. AND including the original shipping receipt/invoice from Joe Kline. My guitar is serial number 4046...making it the 92nd guitar from Joe's shop.
To say that I'm thrilled is a serious understatement. Photos will follow. |

Ahhhh! You're in for some fun! Kline's are fantastic guitars. And if it came from Rick? It's gonna be perfect! You need to change the spelling of your last name though. |

In a word..FANTASTIC. Clearly the guitar started out as royal blue, but has faded (beautifully IMHO) in places to a purple/brown/gray (that still gives of blue under flash or bright light). A couple of small bar dings make it all the more lovely to me...its 27 years old.
Of course, its only been a couple of hours but it sounds, plays, looks and feels to me like the finest pedal steel ever made. As you can see, the rig is Kline-Telonics volume pedal-Standel Imperial Bass Head (circa 1962), Evans 1X12 cabinet.
I feel like a kid who is being allowed to drive the Porsche. Its a good feeling that I know will last a LONG time. |

For the gear heads among us, here is a picture of my old Klein--Steve Klein electric guitar (also keyless!), fanned frets. One of the finest electric guitars I have ever played. I was lucky to be the steward of it for a good long while...
But I'm keeping the KLINE PSG! |

Thanks. For the record, it also came with one of Joe's custom tuning wrenches. |

Am curious to know if Geoff still has n plays this laquer finish SD10.. it looks like a 'keeper' for sure. Or if it was passed to another? Hmmm.

no telling, not much infos on Klines out there, this 8 year old thread was just about all I could dig out about SD10 Klines ... I don't know how many guitar Joe built, but whoever owns one doesn't seem to want to sell, because there is hardly ever any Klines for sale... even U12 ... SD10 you can forget about ... _________________ https://steelguitarsonline.com/ |

Yes sir..few Kline guitars become listed on SGF. I can see that this one has been well preserved. And the mica is more roadworthy than a laquer finish would be. IMHO, of course. 👠|
