Super pitchman Billy Mays was found dead this morning at his home in the Tampa (FL) area. They will have to wait on the autopsy to see what happened but he was on the US Air flight from Philadelphia that blew both front tires on landing at Tampa yesterday. They interviewed him at the airport and he commented that he got hit on the head but that he had a "Hard Head". Can't say, right now, if that caused or contributed to his death but sounds suspicious.

Billy Mays and Natasha Richardson--never expected to see those two mentioned in the same sentence.

(Well, it looks like the coroner says things aren't actually that strange.)

I saw the TV reporter interviewing Billy last night on the news, just after he got off of that airplane that blew a tire. He talked like a lot of stuff from above fell out of bins and something hit him on the head. He shrugged it off as having a hard head. I'm wondering if he developed a subdural hematoma from being hit on the head.

The newspapers reported several people with minor injury, yet US Air says there were none. I think it jarred the fillings out of a lot of teeth when the airplane touched down and one of the front tires blew out.

There's no doubt that Billy loved his work. They were interviewing him on TV a while back, and he even claimed that he has used, and is satisfied with, everything he sold. He also said he turns down the majority of the stuff sent to him for evaluation.

The coroner's report attributes the death to "hypertensive heart disease". They didn't find any trauma to the skull or brain so it doesn't look like the "conk" on the head caused anything.

When I watched his commercials I wished he would stop shouting and go away. I watched a few of the "Pitchmen" shows and found him to be less annoying in that situation. Still his passing is an unfortunate loss and I feel badly for his family.
He was probably an alright guy in person.

He may have been a good buy......but everytime he
opened his mouth.....he insulted my intelligence.

I absolutely couldn't stand his yelling...
consequently.....I NEVER bought any product he
pitched!

Yet more proof - if any were needed - that no-one ever lost money by underestimating the public.

He was on his A-Game, and his ship had come in, but circus barkers never did anything for me.

I never had any respect for him, and now that cocaine has been implicated, I have even less.

Now we only have Vince to love, or hate.

Vince even does his info-mercials in Spanish. It's poor Spanish, but you have to give him an A for trying.
