'92 or '93 lacquer D-10 Mullen 8x4. Nice shape except for some finish problems on rear apron. Comes with adequate case. $1800.00+ shipping to lower 48.
Someone taped black felt to the rear apron to cover scratches and it bled into the lacquer turning it blue-black. They also put black felt between the necks which I left in place. Few small dings and scratches that you'd expect on a lacquer guitar but nothing bad except the aforementioned rear apron. All chrome is real nice. Emmons setup, knees are as follows: LKL raises 4&8, RKL lowers 4&8, LKR raises 1&7, RKR lowers 2&9 with 1/2 stop on 2. Plays very smooth, stays in tune, and sounds great. I think PU's are original. Also comes with custom vinyl cover made by my dear wife. Volume pedal in pictures not included. PayPal OK if you pay the fees.

Thanks for the kind words, Dennis! It is, indeed, a very nice guitar. It will just take somebody who can get over the look of the back apron to enjoy it. If it weren't for that discoloration, it would probably be a $2500 guitar.

I think it's more likely that the explanation of the color on the back apron isn't that the felt bled into the finish, but rather that the felt preserved the original color of the guitar, and the rest faded from exposure to light (prob. sunlight). There's color on the bottom edge of the front apron, too. And do I see traces of color behind the C6 changer, and inside the keyheads (or is that a photo artifact)?
The dyes used for green and blue stain have a tendency to fade dramatically. Just think of the '70s LDGs that have gone completely from green to brown. I have a blue lacquer '94 Mullen which has faded significantly, and, like this guitar, mine has color on the bottom edge of the front apron but not the bottom edge of the back apron. In your photo of the scratches, the color of the top surface of the guitar looks very much like the most faded areas of my guitar.
Just an observation. I'm sure that, also like mine, this Mullen is a great guitar! |

People, while admittedly I can't vouch for this particular guitar, these pre-RP Mullens play like butter and sound fantastic. I love mine. Jimmy Day bought two!
If you care what it looks like, even with a good pro refinish this guitar would be an outstanding bargain! If you can live with the looks, at this price you'll be making out like a bandit! |
