Ya'll have fun. Wish we could be there too. Those old VFW and Legion dances are always fun to do.

Thanks for the encouragement. We are scheduled to play every Saturday and will get paid if enough show up! The facility is wonderful. It used to be a roller rink and it makes for a huge wooden dance floor. It can easily handle 2000.

I have gotten better at switching between steel and Tele during a song. My friend Dale Davis really inspired this. One thing about playing steel and lead is that in this arrangement, the Tele player never stomps on my steel solos/fills! Oh yeah, and there is one less person with whom to divide the money! I tried to convince them to give double pay for double duty, but they won't go for it.

BTW, my Carter is doing a great job and it is so nice that it is lighter to carry!

The starting time has been changed to 8:00 PM. BTW, no alcohol will be served.

Directions: From I-565 to North on the Parkway to Oakwood. Turn right onto Oakwood and then right onto the first street (Church Street). Go to the second Arcadia street sign and turn right. It is a large green building.

We don't serve alcohol, smoke or dance at my gig. We began our 11th year in November! My son is 12 and he played a guitar duet with our harmonica player's grandson last week. What a proud dad! We play cooooountry gospel! www.countryvillage.com

You got my Vote! I just had my first Southern Va Jam and it was held at the VFW. No smoking and no Drinking and it was a great success! Had 15 Very-Very Good steel players not counting Herby!! Good Format for entertainment and encourage some of these young people to take up the steel guitar.
