And you know --- as great of a muscian as he is, he's even better as a person !! Always friendly to my wife and I and treats us like we were really important to him as friends. I may be a bit prejudice but I think owning all those great Sho-Buds helped make him that way -- Very Happy

Hey Guys, you're gonna give him the big head! Phil is just an old "Phart" like the rest of us. Laughing He can't help it if he's so multi-talented. He played a song at the Siloam Springs Show that I swear to God that he was on the 54th fret! Whoa! He's one of the good old boys! That'll be $25.00 Phil. Ray

I was working in the same band as Wayne when he got a new Sho Bud. We were playing a cruise ship and at the end of the cruise they tossed, no threw, his new guitar off the ship onto the loading dock. Wayne was watching and his little W. Va butt was ready to kick some ... but when he got down to the dock the dude was a lot bigger than he looked from onboard the ship. Wayne cooled down, the dude did too and guitar made it home without a scratch (wayne too). Sure miss ole Wayne. Was with him at the end.
Good to see the picture of Phil.
Not sure if it's the same guitar though.
If it is, Wayne got it Sept. 78. (1978)

Hey Billy, haven't heard from you in a long time!!I was lucky enough to have worked with all of the above people. Worked with Phil down at ole Gabes along with Billy and Wayne. We were all close friends and Bill Jordon and I worked Branson together at a club called Crockies. You would have laughed seeing me,on crutches and legally blind with Bill holding on to me as we made our way from the stage to the bar!!!! Wayne was the best!! sure do miss him!

Hello Phil,
How ya doing man? I haven't seen you since the days in Springfield , Oregon and I have thought about you a lot over the years.
I was in Nashville from Dec 08 to April 09 and I asked about getting in touch with you and no one seemed to know how to get hold of you, I would have really liked to see you again. How's your foot doing after all the problems you were having? Hope you are doing well, my friend, maybe one of these days we'll run into each other again. Nice to see you playing a Bud, there is something special about a Bud.
Phil, my email address is in my profile, please feel free to shoot me an email and please keep in touch.
Best of everything to you
Gene Brown

I am told that Phil is the featured artist (vocalist and dancer) in the new disco segment of the Wade Landry Swingin' Cajun show here in Branson.....this surely is a "must see" because I surely can not imagine it.

Doug, You've got to come over one morning. Phil's version of "If Ya Think I'm Sexy" is absolutly without a doubt! Winking

Phil, there's only one word to describe you. And that word is:
AWESOME

well, and maybe:
DANDY

Phil is a great steel player, great bass player, and can sing a heck of a good country song. I hope you still love me Coontz. Laughing
