F.Y.I. Paul sr. first built steel for Paul jr.is on e.bay. If you never seen it before you might want to take a look. I would think Paul jr. would want this back after selling it in the 60s. |

Well I certainly take this with "a grain of salt!" The guitar looks like an early Shobud fingertip model for the most part and in bad condition!
The seller mentions that it's Paul's first guitar and even mentions a video on youtube with Paul playing it. The guitar in the video looks nothing like the one he has for sale and the video he says shows a young Paul Franklin playing. The video was from 1962. Paul was born in 1953. The guy on the steel is young indeed, but certainly not 9 years old as Paul was in 1962.
The decals on the case show "Franklin's bumping and Painting." I'm not sure this was a shop that Paul Sr. had or not?
He also doesn't show a full frontal pic of the front apron on the guitar. The small sections he does show looks like the body is coming apart.
I'm not totally convinced the seller has his facts correct.

I know this is not in the right section of the forum but I thought the members would like to see this. I also wonder about the facts. Someone for sure is going to know. |
