We have started a magazine in spanish about the steel guitar called "Take it away".
Our purpose is basically to try and make the steel guitar known in Spain. It´s taken some work but the first issue is ready, although some things still have to be improved. The magazine is printed in black and white and, because of a misunderstanding with the printing company, the photos aren´t as high quality as we would like them to be. In the next issue this will be solved.
We will increase the number of pages as well with more articles and information for those people who are involved with the instrument. Actually, one of our goals is to make the steel guitar known among people who don´t know anything about it, and give them information and sites where they can find out more (like this great board).
Here are some of the contents of the first issue.
- The steel guitar Hall of Fame, Inc. (article)
- Hey Mr. Ting-a-ling (steel guitar man). An article about Little Roy Wiggins.
- The history of the steel guitar. Chapter I: Joseph Kekuku and the hawaiian steel guitar.
- Interview with the veteran musician Texas Emmett Roch.
- Fender Stringmaster. Article about this legendary guitar
- Announcements, Cd reviews, instructional material reviews and more.
The price is 7$ for overseas and 5 euros for Euope. (Maybe it'a little high but ,believe me, It takes 4$ send a magazine to U.S.A) .

PS- By the way, my english hasn´t improved. A friend has helped me with the gramatic!!. LOL!!
