Walter passed away just after midnite last night and is now with the LORD. May GOD bless, comfort, and keep Cindy and the family always. Jody.

Sorry to hear "Mr We Could" is gone. I just got an e-mail about him breaking a bone and in the hospital. Looks like he went fast.

We have all lost a legend and for some of us a very true and dear friend. Please say a prayer for Cindy who loved and cherished Walt and is now in need of your support. She has lost her absolute best friend.

My condolences to Cindy and the entire family. Walt was one of the really "good guys". those that had the chance to know him found out first hand,,how special he really was. this is just so sad........

Having never really known Mr. Haynes was my loss, but I'll always cherish the conversations I was able to have with him on the Chat Room. Our Condolences and sympathies go to the family and May he rest in peace.

What a shock to read about Walter's passing. Another of the real steel guitar legends is gone.

I am so sad to hear this. Joe Turner had been keeping me updated on his health,
I never met Mr.Haynes but I knew Joe was very close to him and talk about him all the time.

Sad, sad news. I got the chance to be with Walter and chat for several hours with him a few years ago at the TSGA. A very humble man and a real gentleman, in addition to being such a great player and huge influence on many of us. May he rest in peace.

Very sad news, Walter was one of my favorite people, such a pleasent person to be around and to converse with. A true legond in the country music and steel guitar world. He will be sadly missed by all. My prayers are with Cindy and the family.
