If you watch the reruns of Porter's show, you can actually track the development of the first Shobuds. First was one pedal at the changer end. A few shows later, it was a dark-colored guitar with TWO pedals at the keyhead end.

Listen to the steel tone on Porter’s “Misery Loves Company”. According to the credits, this was recorded Sep 21, 1961. Don’t know for sure if that’s the Sho-Bud but is sure sounds great! Don was credited for steel and Jimmy Day credited for guitar?
