Mike Douchette, I have the same set of picks from 1951 on my fingers as we speak. I'm just to cheap to buy anymore . I have a set of new Gold Nationals that someone might like.Bought from Elderly Instruments in Michigan. They are stiff as stainless steel.NP2 I believe. Mike,
I have small fingers and the nationals (as well as Jeffran and others) I have to bend so the bands overlap. I could never get them bent just right and they would constantly try to fall off. I would need to bend the bands tighter several times as I played over the course of the gig. Sooner or later, the pick would break between the tongue and the first hole of the band. Nationals seem to have a very narrow distance between the hole and side of the band. The Nationals are probably very good picks for some people. They just didn't work for me. And Dunlops, I would rather quit playing than try to get them to work on my fingers. IMO, the worst picks on the market. Please, no flames from those who like Dunlops. That's your preference, and if they work for you, that's great. |

Original Gold Plated BJ's
The BJ's were the first editions when Buddy and Jeff were sort of in business.
