"He and I finished a duet album. I'm sure a project of this sort has never been heard. It's a duets record between the songs and the steel guitar. It's not a singer/songwriter record, and it's not a hot pickin' record. It's the greatest steel guitarist of all time playing completely uninhibited, absolutely intimate parts while I sing my stories."

Anyone got any dope on this new record coming out? Peter Cooper's "Mission Door" is one of my favorites.

I saw this also. I heard some bits of it from a well-known steeler friend who has played with Peter, and is a friend of Lloyd's. Pieces I heard were very good.

Pure, unadulterated Lloyd. When I thought the man couldn't possibly get any better... Man, what a sound

Give 'Wine' a listen

edit: Go here http://www.petercoopermusic.com/ and listen to an interview on NPR. You'll hear both Peter and Lloyd. Mr Green gives his opinion on the use of Steel in modern times...

I've heard some of the Peter/Lloyd "duet" project and it's incredibly good, and the duet album with Eric Brace that's mentioned on the website also has a lot of Lloyd's playing; both will be coming out next year.

Meanwhile, until then, if you're a Lloyd Green fan and haven't heard "Mission Door" I highly recommend it, cool songs and great Lloyd all over it.

"Wine" and "Boy Genius" are off the "Mission Door" record. The one that Peter talks of in the Vintage Guitar mag is going to be released next year.

Thanks for the tip on the NPR interview, Bent.

Pete, John-I figured it couldn't be bad. Smile
