I am interested in saving some recent steel guitar clips (e.g.Paul Franklin & Vince Gill) but am not having much success. I have the YTD app. installed in my MAC laptop but that programme only seems to work on older clips.
Does anyone know of a better way to download the newer material? I would appreciate any suggestions. This is only for my private use- no copyright violations. |

I use a web site called Keepvid.com
Instructions are simple : Find the Video you want to save and copy the url.
As you are using a Mac, open an other tab in Safari and go to the Keepvid web site.
Paste the url into the space provided, and click on download. (You must have Java enabled on your Mac) (ignore the large download buttons on the site...the actual button used is the button at the end of the space provided.)
The site will then suggest various styles to download the video. I always choose the MP4 version (To be able to download the video to my iPad or iPod) and the highest video definition available.
The download will start and then I use VLC player to watch the video.
An added benefit to the Keepvid site is that you can also download the film in MP3 format as an audio file.
