You think they're different John? I never measured them There is a bit of electrical tape on the C6 fingerboard to keep it on (the glue must have dried up before I got it...is that what you're talking about or am I missing something. BTW, that S10 you picked up is super sweet! I remember when you posted that you'd empty you're bank account to get one....did it come to that in the end?

Joel,
Now that I look again, I think I was misled by the camera angle. They look the same I guess. The Perms had adjustable scale, on some anyway. I traded for the S-10 F-tip, and am very glad to have it. It's darn near mint!

I see what you mean now about the camera angle...looks like one sticks out at the end a bit more than the other. Trading is the way my wife wishes I got stuff...but I have an accumulation condition commonly known as Gear-Aquisition-Syndrome and cannot let stuff go. It is a shame to me that PSG builders went to the Mica covering. I know that in the world of touring, a mica finish is way more durable but lordy lord, I get goose bumps from the stunning wood on those old guitars. The Perm's i've seen make me drool. Such beautiful pieces.

Here are mine. 68 perm. This one still needs total restoration but I play it as is. I hope to put all new undercarriage in adding a verticle to the E9th and 3 knees for C6th.

70ish perm that's been traded for a Fingertip that matches the 68.

Here's a couple of Buds I've collected through the years. The '74 Professional, I purchased from Reece Anderson in 1976 on a field trip to Austin. The '73 LDG I purchased last year. Both have had complete restorations and considering selling both. Confused

Just reading through some of the post's and saw Ricky Davis post where Lloyd told about his guitar. I don't know if I can do this but I will try to upload the production card for that guitar.

That's some pretty engraving on the pedal bar there, Micky.

Sadly had to let this Professional go so my back wouldn't:

Leaving me with this Super Pro:

To which I added this 6139:

Finally got around to playing this one through my '71 Twin head into closed-back cab with a Peavey-JBL yesterday. Words can't describe the tone.

Thanks Jeff......The engraving was done by me in 1983 after I was recovering from a heart by/pass operation. The end plates are also engraved. I used to engrave steels for a hobby....A pal of mine wanted "Scenes of London" on his pedal bar Grrrrrr that took ages Mad ... If you go to the first couple of pages of this thread, you will see my Sho-Bud after a house fire, and after it was restored to what you see now.

Cheers,

Thought I would bring this topic up again since its been a year and a half since anyone posted to it...I love looking at these old Buds, and perhaps some could contribute their pics now. Here is one that I purchased back in 1981...nothing special I dont suppose, but it was the first D10 pedal I owned.

Thanks Larry for reviving this old post. This was my first store brought pedal steel, Jan. 1982. Was stolen three years later in Miami, Florida. Still looking to find, Serial # 14895. I called it Black but Gene Haugh told me it was listed as Charcoal. Was made in 1977 and shipped to Gretch warehouse. It was brand new when I brought. I would pay fair market price to have it back and no question's asked. Thanks, J.R. Rose
