An original book by Rusty Young is on eBay.
This would make a nice Christmas present for someone.

Which reminds me, what ever happened to the one that was making the rounds of Forumites?

Portland OR area steelers can actually get this book from the Multnomah County Library...although I have to admit I counld't make heads or tails of it! Strange teaching/tab style.

I never understood all the hype about this book. Yes, it's a rare book, but there isn't much useful information in it IMHO. As I remember, about 20% of it is devoted to 6-string slide guitar, and it includes some tab for 6-string slide. There are some interesting pictures of Rusty playing with Poco. There is some interesting text on E9 pedal steel guitar, describing bar techniques, etc. and a few diagrams. There is E9 tablature for a few of Rusty's pedal steel solos with Poco. There is no audio with the book. It was written in 1970s. It's a nice, rare collectable for a pedal steel player who's into that sort of thing, or for a Poco fan, but you won't learn much from it IMHO. You will get 1000% more info on the Steel Guitar Forum and the many pedal steel web sites on the internet.

I must agree with Doug. Years ago when the book first came out, I was excited to see it as I was a huge Poco/Rusty Young fan. But when I finally got a hold of the book, it really didn't have much in it of any interest after all.

I'll sell mine for $30 if anyone wants it. I'll pay the shipping. I think it's Day style pedal setup.
