I just received the "King's Book of Hawaiian Melodies". Copyright 1948 and published in Hawaii.
It contains the song, "Beautiful Kahana" and I plan to give that a try. The actual copyright date on the song is 1915.
Jerry Byrd has stated that this song was his favorite and you can hear him playing it on YouTube. |

I had a request from Dana for "Pretty Red Hibiscus" and "Little Brown Gal".
They are both attributed to Johnny Noble aka Johnny Pineapple.
I finished up "Pretty Red Hibiscus" last night and am working on "Little Brown Gal".
It should be ready shortly. |

Erv, I have not recieved "Beautiful Kahana" yet. I Sent it off request thru US Mail last Monday. I enclosed a check for $2.50 to cover postage. I'm sorry my e-mail does not function properly at times. Maybe it got lost?

Erv, I just recieved "Beautiful Kahana" as I just checked the mail. Thank You. I will send off a check to cover "My li'l brown gal" and "Pretty Red Hibiscus" btw John Avery Noble wanted to be remembered for "Hibiscus" I guess he really liked that one, and so do I!

Erv, I recieved "Li'l Brown Gal" and " "Pretty Red Hibiscus" today. I sent a check to you yesterday for $3.00, I guess I came up a nickle short!
