I see a lot of postings about old 705's vs new 705s, the older ones being so much more desirable. Then again, I talked with a pro steeler who said, other than for perhaps some aging of magnets in the older ones, the two are the same, right down to the magnets.

Has anyone really A/B'd them. Comments?

Thanks.

Hi, I read in some old posts that there was a time that Bill Lawrence stopped making the 705 chrome and sold some 705 black forged and they did not do well, I found them on the internet on ebay already on sale Time, the thing that makes me perplexing is the fact that we all look for the old 705, here on ebay there are 6 for sale and no one buys them, what do you say the originals or a counterfeit pair of that period? This on the ad sells them as original pickups. Thank you Francesco Smile

I don't know if anything definitive was ever found, Francesco, but here is the earlier discussion concerning these.

Don't know if it's any help or just adds to the confusion.

I had read this post, in fact I see 705 for sale and the seller writes that they are old but I see that nobody buys them and still we all look for the old 705, then I wonder (they will be a series of 705 originals these for sale on ebay) Smile
