Topic: BIAB or BIAB MegaPak? |

If I would only buy BIAB, would I be missing essential features that are in BIAB MegaPak?
Or does the basic version have everything I would need for making a simple track?

The basic BIAB, actually the Standard version is the software you need along with a variety of styles , maybe 50 or more that can get you making song tracks in minutes. It also comes with a Roland Sound canvas which you can use instead of your PC sound card "SOUNDS"..
The Megapak I believe includes ALL the styles that BIAB offers, many of which you will probably never use, unless you are doing new age, hip hop, rap, world, etc....
I recently added another styles pak to the STOCK version for $29.
Also the styes are very easy to edit should you have th desire to fool around and make some changes.
The Basic PAK will get you going. I bought mine ( version 2006) off of EBAY for $49 about a year ago. |

I recently upgraded from BIAB 2006 to 2007 basic but found I realy needed the mega pac..Mega pac will give you all 3 Real Drums styles while basic has only style 1.
Buy the mega pac, it's worth the money.

Andy,The Real Drums styles are added styles.They can be used in place of the reg. midi styles.You have 5 options for replacing midi with RD.
1 replace if "partial" match to midi
2""""""""""" fair """"""""""""
3 good
4  very good
5  perfect
But I can promise you that you're gonna find a RD style that will sound better than midi on almost anything that you're doing.
If you buy the RD, be sure to get all 3 sets.Sets 2 & 3 have some good styles.

I would get the whole she-bang. It doesn't cost that much more, and its better to have a style etc. and not need it, than to need it and not have it.
The real drums feature doesn't do much for me and they take a monsterous amount of memory. I use Forte DXI software synth and I can tell very little difference in the drum sounds in Forte and the real drum sounds.
This is a great program, I don't know how I ever practiced without it.
