Basil,
Magnificent!...... That's some of the best and nicest non-pedal I've heard in years. I can't even play it like that on my Pedal steel! Very enjoyable, listening to a master player.
Thanks for sharing the link.
Regards,
Nic

Charles, thanks so very much for this site and all you do for our wonderful steel guitar world. I really appreciate you inserting a song from my just recorded CD-at Gene Breeden's Studio, Nashville. Had a great time with all those very high quality session players that Gene had lined up for me. Hope my efforts are worthwhile. Thanks to all.

I am listening to "My Mother's Eyes" right now and this is the best I have heard from you in the 42 years I have known you. There is a lesson in Touch, Tone and Taste here for any musician. The 3 T's, you nailed them all.
Congratulations
Can't wait to get my copy.

Thanks John, coming from you-with all your experience in our steel guitar world-your comments are most appreciated and cherished.
Only thing, after all these years of knowing you, I seem to not recognize your picture.???
Seriously, John is one of the better bass players and musicians around and for him to recognize my efforts is the best there is. Thanks. Wish you well, my friend.

I have been too busy to get on the Forum much lately, but I did get to download a song by my good Fred Welch, "Wind Beneath My Wings".

Sounds like he is playing with great feeling, and a nice quiet light touch and good tone on his old S12 MSA "Universal".
Nice backup band too.
Thanks again to Charles Tilley for his great website..al..

Hi Basil-I finally had the time to download your new song "Blue Velvet" Last night. As a player with your experience shows, it was an Excellent rendition. Very nice chords and smooth playing, good tone, nice smooth key change, and a great novel ending. Great backup with a nice beat too.I liked it.

It sure is nice for us to be able to enjoy this website by Charles Tilley to hear all the fine steel guitar players from the Forum. Thanks Tilley. I only wish that more players would put on their favorite solos every month for us to enjoy...al.: Very Happy Cool

How appropriate for his legacy that it is that the last post by Al before his death was to recognize and compliment another steel guitar players' work.

Al, who was an innovator on the evolution of the pedal steel-guitar, down-graded himself and praised all of those who played the steel-guitar, regardless of their ability.

May God bless Al, and give him the recognition that he missed during his life-time.

Hi everyone! I recently posted a lap steel tune called "Stoney." This is the first time I have put a steel song of mine up to be heard. I'd appreciate (and I'm sure learn from) any comments you may have to offer. Thanks....

I especially want to thank Charles for posting a song from my latest CD. My friend, Al Marcus had been requesting me to have another one posted and I only wish that he had a chance to hear it. Al and I had much in common with our music and this song Charles has inserted here-"My Mother's Eyes"- is just one link in the friendship Al and I shared over the many years. Now, I hope this song and my efforts to play it will be enjoyed by all his other friends.

Want to thank Charles for all he does supporting all of us in our love for our music.
I recently had the pleasure of completing a new cd project at Breeden's Studio in Nashville. When I heard that Clinton Gregory would be the session violinist, I wanted to swap fours with him. Charles has just inserted my version of "Cold, Cold War". Hope some of you like this one and please give a large amount of credit to Clinton G, Gene Breeden, Jamie Bowles on piano, John Heinrich on bass. Barry Wayne on drums and Kraig Hutchins on acoustic guitar.
Thanks again Charles for all of this music on your site. See you in Dallas soon.
