How many Forum members are using a Tascam 2488 ?
I've recently started using one, but there's a long learning curve. The one I got doesn't seem to have the drum tracks on the hard disk. I know that they can be loaded onto the machine, but I don't know where from. |

| Hi Alan, I have a 2488, but I don't use the drum machine because my wife is learning to play drums and I'll wait for her to advance before I do any serious recording. I've been using it to make rythem tracks to use when we go into a senior center or nursing home. I record steel, rythem, and bass on there and then I play six string and sing along with it. As far as lthe learning curve, you are right, I've only been using my Tascam a short time and have a lot to learn yet. Larry |

I'm been using a 2488 for years, and it's predecessor, the 788 before that.
I've never used it's on board MIDI, so I can't help you there. That's the fader labeled TG (Tone Generator). I think that's where the drum machine lives. You don't have to load anything.
I'd be happy to answer any questions about basic recording and track management.
It's a great machine. The learning curve is well worth the effort.
