Lawrence XR-16 10 String Pickup for sale. I just got this pickup and tried it in my Carter. Just played on it for 15 or 20 minutes. It's not what I'm looking for sound wise so I'm selling it. It came without a box or anything but the pickup is brand new. I'd like to get $85.00 and I'll pay shipping.

This pickup has the wide mount tabs to fit a Carter, Emmons, MCI, Franklin, etc.

I decided I prefer the George L E-66 pickup over the XR-16. For my taste, the XR-16 is a little dark sounding. But the E-66 is pretty bright and I may have gotten so used to it that my perception of "dark" is a little warped!

Hey, James,
So you got you a Carter, huh? I'm assuming it's a single 10...since you only have 1 pickup for sale. If that E-66 is too bright for you, George L makes what I think they call a modified E-66 which has an iron blade in it I think to take a little of that edge off. I had them in that Fessenden that I bought when I was with Pam if you can remember that. Loved the tone of that p/u. In fact I may go back to those in my LeGrandeII. Anyway, glad you got you a good guitar to pick on. How's the gig going? I need to talk to you about that video you're in!!! Did you really get soaked, or was that all blue screen stuff? Hope to talk to soon!
Tim

Tim,
Yes, I got a Carter. It's a single 10 on a double frame in Green Birdseye. A modern LDG you might say. Got that 4th "Franklin" pedal too. I couldn't be happier. I really do like the E-66 but I might look into that modified PU you describe.
As for the video. Yes, we really got soaked. They had rain machines going on us for about an hour! They had to provide me with a cheepie fiddle and bow as it was going to get plenty soaked. By the time we were through, almost all of the hair had come out of the bow.
So, what's new with you? Are you still with m,m,m,m,m, Mel?
