Does anyone know of any place around the Kansas City area where you can hear some Steel Guitar players? I've seen some bands at Davey's Uptown with Steel, but they are few and far between. If not KC any within reasonable driving distance is good also.

Last July, when I was at the Ameristar Riverboat in K.C. they had a good local band playing with a good steel player. Can't recall the name as I was just thinking about getting in to steel at that time myself.
Or drive out to Smith Center Kansas June 20 and hear hear Curt Shoemaker and the Westwind band.Curt is an awesome steelplayer!
