I've never seen one of these before ... kind of cool. There's a sound clip on the site for it too.

Wow, that one's in amazing shape! Normally they tend to look like Duo/Triolians.

Triolians and Duolians came with the faux rosewood "piano" finish from '36 to '39. Trioilans had bound fingerboards. The ones with the black headstock and arched "National" logo are the coolest.
If someone has to have one, I have a '36 that was renecked from square to a new round neck by Don Young at National that I will sell at a reasonable cost. In fact it is the very first one he ever recreated that headstock style on. He used to do only slot head 14 fretters.

I believe it used to be mine ... (And Paul Warnik's prior to that.)

It is a 1936 Triolian -- you can hear a sound clip at the Vintage Nationals web site.
