"Howdy Folks!"

Does anybody know where I could go to download some PSG Screensavers?
I know there must be someone out there who has some.

Thanks;
Pete

Pete;
I had a Buddy Emmons screensaver on the website until about two weeks ago. I realized that it had the old internet address on it. So, I took it down. I am working on a new one. When I get it completed I will send out a update mail.

Pete-- Now that the Forum's back up, I can respond. There are several programs that will allow you to create your own 'screen savers'. Many also can include sound. They range in price from around $15 and up. Here's a link to a 'freebie' that may get you by (at least untill you get a better one)

http://www.zdnet.com/downloads/stories/info/0,,0015BV,.html

This one only accepts .JPG graphics files, does not include sound, and puts in transition effects over which the user(you) seems to have no control - but it works.

When you invoke the program, you get a window where you specify the graphic file(s) you want to use. Once the file(s) is selected, you can preview it/them and change the order in which they are presented. After you tell it to build the saver, you must then put the resultant .SCR file into the WINDOWS\SYSTEM folder. You then use the standard Windows display properties to use the saver. Email if you want help. -Everett

Hey Pete-- I was going to send you a 'saver' created from Dan Dowd's 12 string he built last year. Don't think Dan would mind as it is A BEAUTIFUL piece of work. But I don't see an address for you - drop me a note if you'd like to see the results of the program I mentioned in the previous post. The file is only about 345k in size. --Everett

Pete;
The Buddy Emmons screen saver link is on the Fun Stuff Page!
Hope you like it.
It might be wise to wait for a little while to download it. I sent out a notice about it and the server is getting clogged up.

I have just finished and uploaded a steel guitar screensaver, complete with sound.(25 pics, a veritable who's who of pedal steel guitar)
I thank Jon Light, Mitzi Grantham and Carter Steel Guitars for the photos I used. It is a self-extracting file and can be found from the link on the main page listed here below my name.
Hope you enjoy it.

Also, it is a free download.
