Do any of you remember the Fender Reverb that was used before the reverb pan was integrated into the amp? you know the one that was a seperate reverb that was covered in Fender's brown tolex and was introduced about 1963? Jody Carver had one years ago while he was with Fender. I saw a real clean one in a music store down here in Fla and I couldnt get to try it.

Jody always said this was one of the best reverb units Fender ever did.
Only drawback is it is housed in its own cabinet and it means an extra piece of gear to carry along. But the salesman in the store said
it beats any of those holy grail stomp boxes
and is tube driven.

I never have to ask questions like this as I an always able to get answers from Jody and Jody unfortunatly is not able to be reached due to a family health problem,.

Anyone have an opinion,this bugger retails at about over 300.00....any comments.

If it works and it's old then it's probably a great deal.... There's a reissue at a music store here and it's marked down to $430.

Greg;
I bought a used Black Tolex Fender Reverb Unit out of Jeff Newmans closet-shelf collection back about ’78/’79 and it was a good unit! If I needed a seperate reverb-unit, I'd buy one if it was available, without thinking twice.

They are hittng over $1500.00 in Vintage Guitar Magazine! It a bargain if it is an original. I'll take if you don't! Last one I sold went for over $800.00 about 3 years ago.
