Anybody know where I might find a speaker board for a Twin-Reverb to accomadate a 15 inch speaker?

Lowes or Home Depot ..
Make it out of 3/4 inch plywood..be sure to make the speaker hole in the appropriate area ( slightly offset I believe) so the magnet clears the transformers..
Use the 2x12 speaker board for the template.

Ditto what Tony said. It's not hard to make one using a Skil-saw. Use the original speaker board as a template for the new one. On mine, I had to make the hole a couple of inches right of center (facing the front of the amp). There is just enough room for a 15" in a Twin. I had to chisel a "scoop" in the bracing at the bottom of the cabinet, for the bottom of the speaker to fit. The transformer sits in between the spokes of the JBL D-130F basket, so positioning is critical. Positioning may depend on the type of speaker you're using. Still, it's not a real difficult project, if you take it slow and measure carefully.
Otherwise, there is a company that will make the board for you, but I don't remember the name. Someone will chime in with it, I'm sure. Rather pricey way to go. If you're flush you might want to just buy a new Fender Twin Custom 15 amp. They look pretty sweet. What make of 15" speaker are you thinking about installing, and what year is your Twin Reverb? |

| Mojo will sell you a precut baffle, or a whole cabinet. Also, James Moorehead on the Forum has been trying to sell a Twin cabinet with a 15" baffle installed. |

What year is the Twin Reverb?
It could be a fixed baffle that is
dadoed into the sides and can't be
removed if so only the
front grill will be removable.
I would recommend having the amp
reworked to have the old style
floating baffle.
Email me. I might be able to rework
your cabinet and make you a baffle.

It's an extra that is laying around collecting dust, that I'll never use, so it's yours if you want it. I had it in my '81 Twin Reverb and I used an EV 15L, which is tighter than a JBL, and it worked great! It is covered already with a grill clothe frame that velcro's on. It does have a rectangle cut out for a horn, but just cover that up if you want. I'm not going to use it, so send me $15 + a little for postage, and it's yours if you want. (BY the way, My twin cab is gone to a good home.)  |
