Session 500 Bass Amp??????

Did any of you ever use a session 500 for a bass amp? I tried it this afternoon on a gig and I couldn't get a very good bass sound from it. What settings did you use? Of course, it could be just a short in either my brain, ears of fingers.....but I really think the tone could be better.

The Session 500 wasn't designed to be used as a bass amp. However, if you really want to use it for that, put a 1505-4 Black Widow speaker in it, and you'll get better low end.

Keep in mind though that this is an "open back" cabinet, and if you play it at loud volumes, you'll likely drive the voice coil out of it's gap. If you have a closed back bass cabinet, you could use the Session 500 amp to drive it, which would be a better way to go in this case. The best thing to do of course, is to get yourself a bass amp.

Danny, actually the 1502 Black Widow speaker would be a better choice for bass guitar applications. Otherwise, the power amp and preamp sections of the amp could be used to power a bass enclosure.
