| This guitar has the double raise/lower fingers, 2 hole bell cranks, round cross shafts, long nylon tuners, and 8 & 4. I put allot of elbow grease on this one.(Thanks to Ricky Davis and Duane Marrs for the tips and parts)Asking $2100.OBO. email for pics |

Marks on the front of the end plates are smugges. this thing really looks and plays great.For some odd reason it even has that classic Sho-Bud tone.

BTW folks, the serial number on the guitar is 10231--although it's my understanding that this may only get you in the ballpark insofar as time of manufacture of the guitar.  |

Current setup is Emmons ABC on pedals and Sho-Bud on the Knee Levers. E's to F LKL E's to D# on RKL, LKR F# to G# and RKR D# to C-C#

Changed the knee levers to Emmons. Been playing this Guitar every afternoon since Christmas Eve.Sound Wonderful. Plays Great. Stays in tune.Great deal for someone looking for a classic guitar in excellent condition.

For the most part> Yes.
But there is a difference between Pro II and Pro III and Pro II Custom and Pro III Custom and there were two body style changes and something different mechanically about every year from early Pro II's and early pro III's to the Pro II custom and Pro III custom early ones and later ones...ha....
But yes Pro III's had metal necks and Pro II's had wood.

Yea Charlie, we did Alexandria with Billy Joe Royal. It was fun. I "invaded" their last set when they played Last Date. They were good sports about it and I had a great time.(I was in such a hurry/nervous that I put my picks on the wrong fingers---there were some "extra" notes hit throughout my solo...ha!) I wish I knew how to contact them so I could thank them again for being good sports. Unfortunately, as soon as they ended their set we started ours and I never got hooked up with any of them again.
As far as saying that Buddy played the Sho-Bud....I ain't going there---he aspired to be a BOXER! |

Come on you guys...I have the same guitar and believe me, these Buds sound sweet! stay in tune!and women throw themselves at the owners!....execpt my wife...she just throws things!

Hey Ricky,
I had an inquiry on the Pro 3 about the weight. In the old Sho Bud catalog I have it doesn't state the weights of the guitars. Can you enlighten us all on the weight of the guitar in the case? Thanks for the help...I'll have to send you a donation too!

I don't know about the actual weight, but she sure has a ton of tone. Played this Beauty New Years Eve and New Years night. Happy Happy Joy Joy. Stayed in tune and played great.

Martin; that Pro-III Custom in the case is 65-70 lbs.
The guitar out of the case around 40 lbs.
Farris; I've played some Pro III Customs that actually sounded warmer than it's Pro II brother...ha. There are many more factors other than the neck that make the Tone of one Sho-bud from another. Yes it can be done; but you'll have to find two more finger mounting plates and then two more wood necks and I bet Seymour has'um..ha...

That weight at 40 Lbs? is only 2 lbs more than a Carter at 38 Lbs.without the case. Is that right ,Ricky? Just curious....al

Al I can't tell you exact. I don't have one here weigh. But several of them that I've weighed were around 40 lbs(give or take) assembled out of the case.
