D-10, EMCI, 8&7, Red top/Black front(mica
over wood)

Emmons set-up. I believe the p/ups to be L-710's.

Complete cleaning, set-up and added KL's
by Mike Cass.

This guitar plays great and has THAT tone.

$2,000. plus shipping.

Email for pics and info.

Scott, Thanks for the photos; they came through great.
From what I can see in the photos, particularly the one of the underside, the guitar appears to have a wood front apron and a removable aluminum rear apron. If I am not mistaken, this is an MCI Waco guitar not an EMCI. Despite the logo saying EMCI, I was under the impression that all EMCI's were welded frame guitars and only the earlier MCI Wacos had the wood front.
Might want to check with those more knowledgable on the matter.
The pickups appear to be Bill Lawrence 705's.
The MCI Waco is a great guitar also, just not a welded frame EMCI.

Just been in touch with Scott and it seems we're both not sure what kind of guitar he has for sale. I own an MCI just like his and it says "MCI by Carter" on the logo decal. Can any Forumites shed some light on this mystery?
Does a wood front apron define this guitar as an MCI Waco? Are all EMCI's welded frame?
Scott, can you post photos here on the Forum?

Theirs a thread somewhere in Pedal Steel. As I remember, only the late MCI's,Arlington models and all EMCI's have a welded frame.

That being said.Scott is a great guy and if I were in the market for a Waco I'd buy it in a minute.............bb

Thanks John and Bobby for your help and
comments here. I apologize if I have caused
you any inconvenience. I have some work to
do as it appears the guitar I bought from
a known dealer, is not as it was represented to me.

Thanks again.

Bob, Please, close this thread.....

Hey Scott,
I was told by Bobbe Seymour and Johnny Cox that this was indeed a MCI instead of an EMCI.I was told it was one of the last MCI's and the start of the EMCI model. When I sold that guitar to Bobbe it had the L-705 pickups.
This is a wonderful sounding guitar.I should buy it back, but I have my new Emmons and another D-10 Emmons to fool around with.

See ya,

Scott, if Im correct, you sent me that guitar after you bought and recieved it from "???" to have me straighten out some things and add some knee lever kits, right? While I cant remember the guitar precisely, I dont understand why the same person would tell you and Mike Richardson two different stories on such an(apparently)easily traceable guitar, but I would wonder too if I were you.......
As for it belonging to Buddy E at some point, I would have to just about bet my next paycheck that thats not true.
Never saw anything like that at his house. The only red & black MCI he had to my knowledge was the one he played on the road for years with the Everly's. Additionally, I believe that Buddy gave that particular horn to Don Everly sometime before they ended touring, after 9/11.
IMHO you deserve a full refund, no questions asked from the person who sold it to you.
I think $2000.00 is low price for this guitar so it should sell quickly. One more thing; to my knowledge there were never any Waco guitars with metal necks' or at least Ive never seen one that I can remember. That being said, from what I remember and what youve described, I think you have an early Arlington MCI.

Jeez, now I'm more confused than ever!
Mike, are you saying that the guitar is surely not an EMCI? Aren't all EMCI's welded frame? But it's not a Waco, just an early MCI, before MCI went to welded frames?
Have I got this right?
