We flogged this about in another thread
here. Since then I've been working on the solo with an intensity and dedication that only a newbie (or a complete idiot) would devote to such a project.

Mike Johnson's solo (for Darrel Singletary) doesn't seem to exactly match the tab. This confused me a bit until I discovered that Darrel didn't write the song, and there are at least three other recordings (by Gene Watson, Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson). I have not been able to hear those versions.

I am coming, by degrees, to the problem Smile.

Here's Mike's version of the solo.

And here's the tab of the solo;

I Never Go Around Mirrors (solo)

The slides lead me to believe Mike starts on string 7 fret 5, and works up to fret 10 for the 1st string raise like the tab does.

Big thanks to Ricky for tabbing the intro, fills and outro, and posting the entire tab in the other thread. He credits Jeff Lampert with the solo tab.

IMHO, this solo is slick as greased teflon. I would very much appreciate some help to translate the solo to Mike Johnson's version.
