Proper Key of Tab Corrected 3/20/2004

Here is the solo Lloyd did on Johnny Paychecks "Apartment #9".
Got to thinkin about it after the comment on using the B and C pedals more.
It is in C# and you have to listen to the recording to get the phrasing right;
but here is what he played.

Remember on Lloyds guitar back then; you can only do one change on a string
and he decided to raise the 4th string as apposed to lowering it.
So he is a master of using those pedal combinations.

An old gem just langishing here.
I particularly like that little set of
fret 8 and B pedal moves on the 1st line.
The BC 2nd and 3rd line parts were things I have found, but in a slightly different way. Part and parcel of Lloyds genious.
I haven't heard the song, but very nice TAB Ricky. Thanks 5 years later.

Clive; I may of tabbed it in C because that's the key Dale Watson sang it in when we did it on stage....>I have no idea what key the orginal was in; as I just tabbed it outta memory..ah..ha

Hi Guys. I did check out the Apt9 file, but it's not the same version... on RRJ site
It's the Tammy Wynette version, and TAB from Joey, which I did try out.
I of course appreciate the fine work on this one too.
Just a simple sounding intro, till you try it.
But this isn't the Paycheck version. So not the same licks.
IT does seem like Lloyd though. |

Hey Graham; I've never heard that clip of that singer and turnaround??? Who is it??
So what I'm saying is; that is not the Johnny Paycheck off the "Real Mr. Heartache" with that Lloyd Green turnaround I tabbed....>I think you accidentally plopped another one up there..ha.
But hey....I like that one too....>sounds like Johnny Bush Singing..

You're right, that is not from the Real Mr. Heartache cd. It is Johnny Paycheck and it is indeed Lloyd Green on steel, from the 1967 LP Johnny Paycheck Sings Jukebox Charlie.
This was the first of I believe 4 versions he did of this song.
Sorry about that. The cd version of the break is on the site now.
