I know I've had some daft notions in the last three years (losing the C pedal was one; I soon missed that!!!) but this one seems like a keeper.

My D10 Emmons has 8+9 - six KLs and four pedals work on E9.

LKL/LKR: Es (lower and raise)
LKV: Raises 7,2,1 with a solid half-stop as both F#s reach a G.
LKL2: Lowers 9,6,3 a half-step. Easy to reach and very useful
RKL: Lowers the Bs, split with A pedal
RKR: Lowers 2 to C#, 9 to C# and 10 to A

Pedals 1,2,3 are (Day): C,B,A

Pedal 4 raises the 6th a whole step; with P3, it puts me in F#
============
So far, so good, but I had sacrificed a pull that I really liked - raising the 5th to a D, overriding the A pedal. I loved getting that movement on the 5th string B to C#, to D, then back again, all without reaching for the 2nd string with RKR engaged.

Then I recalled the late-great Russ Hicks' SD-10 guitar with an extra pedal just left of the volume pedal.

Eureka! I fitted a rod to pedal 7 and now that change is easily available with two feet.

(I picked P7 because it only has two pulls on C6; P8, of course, already has four.)

It's working really well, especially with a 9th string in the bass. Oh, what fun this all is. Smile

Lowering the low “B” to “A” with the same lever that lowers the 2nd a full tone, is also a great change! (I’ve had that one for 50 years!) Winking

And I have it split to give me a B note with the A pedal and RKR.

Nice 4/5 chord.
