I sent my ZB pickup into Scott Swartz at Steeltronics for a rewind. He wound it to my spec, wax potted it, and grounded and shielded the pickup. It's quiet as a church mouse. He turned my order around in seven days. He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and his attention to detail is excellent. This man knows pickups. Outstanding customer service.

Scott did a rewind on an old Emmons PU for me. He was great. He asked a lot of questions about what I wanted to be sure he hit the target, and he did. Quick service, smart guy, highly recommended.

Absolutely! Scott resurrected a 1965 Emmons pickup that someone butchered the mounting plate for me. Great job, great guy.

Scott has done numerous rewind jobs for me, and I have purchased new pickups from him as well. Always exemplary service and great products!

Scott surpasses expectations, his knowledge and craftsmanship are detailed in his products.. I have Scottā€™s pickups in some of my steels. I just recently purchased his ā€œSTOā€ Distortion Pedalā€¦ which is fantastic..

Kudos to Scott. Last week, I installed one of Scottā€™s newest pickups, the 507 in my new GFI Expo. It fit perfectly with 3 loose quarters distance between the magnets and the strings. The 507 is clear, smooth & warm with an excellent balance across all strings.

Interesting Jerry, what pickup was in it, the GFI III. I took my new GFI 3 pickup out and install a Lawrence 705. It sounds good but the spacing is too close.

Larry, it was delivered with the stock Steeltronics pickup but it met with a little mishap involving a mic stand so, upon replacing it, I opted for Scottā€™s latest 507 pickup that is a copy of the Lawrence 705 but with a lower profile. I encountered the same problem as you with distance from pickup to strings with a Lawrence pickup. Scottā€™s new 507 is a perfect fit.

Thanks Jerry. Good information. I like your description of the fit and tone. I knew Scott was making the pickups for GFI and probably made the one that it had in it. It was too bright for my taste. The 705 is much warmer but I didn't want to route the body for the fit. Sounds like you found a solution.
