When I first got into repairing and rebuilding push pulls, he was very instrumental in helping me. We would get on the phone and talk for hours.

I first met Lynn and his wife Kathy when they moved to Oregon City, Or. They moved into a house about two blocks from where I was living at the time. You couldn't have asked for nicer Neighbours. My prayers go out to the family.

I just heard of Lynn’s passing today. Just a wonderful man to visit with whether on the phone or in person. I bought a push pull from him and he seit up and it was a wonderful guitar, just wish now I hadn’t sold it. Prayers for his family for strength through this time.

I had the luck of corresponding with Lynn on a few things over the years - he always went the extra mile to help me out with things. He'd even contact me out of the blue if he saw that I had an issue on the Forum with my Emmons.

I meant to write him a nice note after I read that he was not doing well - he informed me a few years ago about his health problems - but his final thread made it clear he was not long for this world. I didn't imagine it would be this fast.

I REGRET not writing him that note - He would have got as much joy out of it as I would have.

Guess a guy should remember to strike while the iron is hot! I'll remember that.

Rest easy Lynn - thanks for being a friend.

A friend for 4 decades. A true lover and devoted player of the pedal steel. His talents as a PP specialist will be forever appreciated. Sadly, many of us knew this was coming. So sorry to hear about Lynn’s passing. He was a man of dignity and grace… a gentle soul and a true craftsman. I greatly admired the courage he had in dealing with the cards life had played him.
I’m thankful I got to back him up a couple times at the Phoenix show.

He will be missed.

Talk to Lynn about 6 months ago about a problem I had with a Emmons and he talked me right threw it in a few minutes. What a nice GENTLEMAN he was and so smart about the EMMONS push/pull.

So sad to hear this! Lynn will be truly missed, not just by our Portland steel community, but by all the steel players all around the world who crossed paths with him. Very saddened to hear this news. I still remember opening the case of the Push Pull I purchased off Lynn ten years ago and my breath catching. It was like a brand new instrument. It still plays like a dream. Rest in peace Lynn and condolences to your family.

I went to Lynn’s house the day Mark Simpson saw his “Lynn” rebuild. I hid in the back room and snuck up behind Mark and gave him a big old hug. He was knocked out by the look of his new-old PP, tears were flowing for sure. I am sure there are many other stories like this. Lynn was a magician of the first order for sure.

The history of the ownership trails of many many guitars Lynn took with him will be missed for sure.
