Paul:

I'm not sure, but you may have to resign yourself to shipping it somewhere (Billy Knowles, NC, Jim Palenscar, CA., are just two options).

If there's a knowledgeable player somewhere near you, it sounds as though it's something that could be accomplished that way. I'm not aware of a steel guitar dealer in Indiana.

Check with Tom Sosbe of the Indy Steel Club around Greenwood Indiana. There is a large body of knowledgeable steel players there, perhaps he can point you to someone that could help you.

This is a tough question! What it will cost depends on the present condition of the guitar, who does the work, and on how many hours the job may take. You might get away with a few hundred dollars, or it could cost up to a thousand dollars. Be very specific about what you want done, and how much you're willing to spend!

What make and era is the guitar you want serviced?
If parts are needed, That can be a problem and costly. On top of cleaning and setup.
