Here at Outwest we have been listening to you folks. I have been tooling up and am excited to pass on some really good news. I have been gearing up to do some manufacturing to fulfill a need for some replacement parts. These parts basically stopped being supplied from the manufacturer when these companies shut down due to various reasons.
I am still in the process of receiving new tools and supplies. So as they come in and the set up continues I will continue updating you folks on what is becoming available for various brands of steels from us. I will keep adding that to this post.
If you have any ideas of what other parts might be needed please PM me and i'll check into it to see if it's feasible.

At this point we are offering a replacement Pull pin or also known as dog bones. That is the Brass piece that is located in the Carter Bell crank/rod puller that the hooked side of the pull rod wraps around.

We are also offering replacement pull rods for the Carter guitar. Just follow the measuring instructions on the web page.
Stay tuned for more updates as well for the Carter steel guitar.
Thanks
Wayne

Thats not a problem Ricky. I heard that term "dog bone" on this forum. It refers to the brass "pull pin " that Carter Steels uses in there bellcranks/Rod pullers.

I hope this helps
thanks

Thanks Wayne, yeah I needed that explanation cuz I never had a Carter before and I don't know what those parts are, until your picture just now,, but I'm glad you're making them cuz I'm sure there's plenty of folks that need them.

HI and thank you Ron. I appreciate that however, I am little old school and have already designed a built steel jig, those particular bell cranks/rod pullers are sitting on my bench as we speak 80% done. I am just waiting on the end mills for it. But i do thank you anyways.

We will be reproducing a number of different parts for different guitars as we move forward. What I really could use is an original Sho-bud tear drop knee lever. If someone would be willing to lend me one. I would return it after it has been reverse engineered.
As well if there are any parts that anyone feels they need or there is a need for. Please contact me and i will look into it.
thanks
wayne

Thanks for undertaking this, Wayne!

My Carter has been trouble-free for 25 years, but it's good to know there will be a growing reservoir of parts just in case.

Not a problem Chris. We are hoping we can produce more and more wearable parts for many brands guitars as we gear up.

With the passing of the owners, or age or just shutting down the company's...whatever the reasons.

We the customer/ musician , could use support to keep our beloved instrument running... and alive to pass it down for/to the next generation.
thanks
Wayne
