Here's a nice Jimmy Van Heusen song I worked up for the E9th pedal steel. it's 32 bars, AABA format and the two attached PDF files cover both the A and B parts. NOTE: A friend pointed out to me that I might also mention that I use a finger pick on my ring finger. As you can see, lots (most) of the chords are 4-note. Though I don't do any "heavy lifting" with my ring finger, I do integrate it into many chords, but it is rarely used to pick out any melody lines.

| I recently edited this post and wanted to emphasize that a number of the chords shown call for a four string grip. Personally, I went from three to four picks not too long ago, and the transition was not all that bad. There is no call for fancy single string work with the ring finger in this song, so even if you're not accustomed to using four fingers, don't be intimidated and give it a try. |

| Whoa! I just learned my RKR drops the 9th string a half step! I'm going to spend some serious time learning this tune. Good job with this tutorial. Is there a place to send a few bucks for your efforts, and do you have more tutorials? Fabulous. For me, an advanced beginner with a Williams D10. |

Hi Walter. I'm glad you enjoyed the video and tab, and that was very kind of you to offer me a few bucks for the effort. I made and posted this video strictly for the enjoyment of doing so, and also to contribute to the Forum that has been such a valuable asset. The free exchange of information here is just wonderful. Thanks so much for the offer though
