Someone ask me why I'm not a steel guitar manufacturer any longer.
These guys work 24 hours a day, designing, building talking to customers, going to shows, fighting the high price of materials, and for what? So they can get rich? Show me one rich steel builder! Most builders have their whole families working for them in their endevors.
Cut all these unsung hero builders some slack, they deserve it. They are treated worse than used car salesmen.

ok Joey..you're right..
but I was actually referring to timing , not necessarily the parts...
It still appears that the big issue for Tom is Downtime..he knows he can send the Steel, or bring the Steel for repair...
But it's the Downtime thats the issue..
Thats why I referenced the AC being dead I need it fixed today..but in reality it will get fixed next week..
"I want it now" only applies at Burger King and such...
I hate this for both Tom and Mike..
I sure wish it had gotten worked out before this thread began...
Hey Tom, cute Blonde in the picture with you !

If an involved party wants to comment further, I'll open it for him. Otherwise, this topic is closed to prevent uninformed speculation and damage to good reputations.

Folks lets be realistic. This guitar is about 16 years old, and it now needs some changer work done. Seems pretty good to me. Anyway take your 16 year old car, if it needs a part replaced, can you drive it while the repairs are being made? No, we are offering to repair the changer, we do this part here for the reasons mentioned. A Mullen guitar is what it is, awesome, why because every part is precision made to provide a great instrument. So, are we wrong to say that we do all changer work here? Maybe, but it is our choice. This is all we are talking about, repairing an 18 year old changer and retrofitting it to our replacement parts. Enough said he has a choice.
For all the others that were going to buy a Mullen, but now are not. The choice is yours and if you base your choice on one mans opinion. Then you do. We are very dedicated to our customers and always have the highest intentions of pleasing them. All manufacturers go through problems, but its the strong that survive. Our guitars are what they are, "Precision" built and played by a GREAT family. |

Tom sent via email: quote: I agree with everything that Mike has just said.
However, the whole process was botched from the beginning.
He never called up and said that the pedal and lever kits had to be built and
were on hold.
There were weeks that I could not get anyone to respond.
Had I flown to Denver for the upgrades and repairs as originally planned, would
the pedal kits have been manufactured or would I have flown home without them.?
This is not an issue with the quality of Mullen Guitars.
I simply have not been able to get the builders attention.
