I am a newbie, and I have made myself a mini chart of chord locations for E9 tuning. It may be

helpful to other newbies. The chart is based on the minimum copedent shown below. Knee G is very

helpful in obtaining a "down" (v) chord:

------------------------
0 | A | B | E | G |
---|----|----|----|----|
F# | | | | |
D# | | | | |
G# | | A | | |
E | | | Eb | |
B | C# | | | |
G# | | A | | F# |
F# | | | | |
E | | | Eb | |
D | | | | |
B | C# | | | |
------------------------

MINI CHORD LOCATION CHART:
|<---------------------------------- fret------------------------------------>|
pedal| | -2 | |ROOT | | +2 | | | +5 | | +7 | | | +10| | +12 |
-----| |-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
0 | | | | i | | | | | iv | | v | | | | | i |
A | | | |vi m | | | | |ii m| |iii m| | | | |vi m |
AB | | | | iv | | v | | | | | i | | | | | iv |
E | |ii m| |iii m| | | | |vi m| | | | |ii m| |iii m|
EG | | iv | | v | | | | | i | | | | |iv | | v |
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The grip at st-3,4,5 with EG pushed will produce a iiim while st-4,5,6 will produce a v.

This sounds OK with phrases like below, key G, 3/4 time, where notes are 1/4 and X extends

previous note 1/4. The ^ indicates 1/8. In bar 3 the G is pushed with the E in advance.
st
3 | |----------|-----3-3B-|-3--x-1--|----------|
4 | |----------|-3-X-3-3--|-3E---1E-|-3E-3-x-x-|
5 | |-x-x-3-3A-|-3---3-3A-|-3----1--|-3--3-----|
6 | |-----3-3B-|-3---^-^--|--G---G--|-3G-3-----|
7 | |----------|----------|---------|-^--^-----|
8 | |-----3-3--|----------|---------|----------|

Pros please check for errors, thanks.

As another newbie, I want to thank you. It was interesting to copy this and print it in msword -- have to go to Courier and widen margins, and I hadn't done that before.

The minors at +5 and +7 were new for me -- I'm remiss in studying minors --

There's always something new to learn on the PSG, isn't there. My only problem is, at age 70, I forget about half of what I learned by the next day!

tnx again for your effort
